Responsibilities and requirements are listed below:

Accounting Supervisor-Mexico

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the financial setup of a new plant by mapping electronic Purchase Request categories to general ledger accounts and collaborating with the SAP implementation team to create effective business processes.
  • Establish and monitor compliance with internal accounting controls to ensure the integrity of financial transactions, oversee the accounts payable cycle, and enforce payment verification processes.
  • Prepare payroll-related accounting vouchers that comply with Mexican labor and tax laws, ensuring accurate classifications and accruals.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely filing of monthly tax returns, including VAT and Income Tax, while ensuring proper classification of non-deductible expenses per Mexican tax laws.
  • Conduct thorough reconciliations of tax-related general ledger accounts to align transactions with official SAT invoices and filed tax returns.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the China-based accounting team, ensuring smooth financial reporting and process alignment across borders.
  • Reconcile foreign trade reports with accounting records to ensure compliance in all import and export activities, maintaining accuracy and adherence to regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Over 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity within a manufacturing environment in Mexico.
  • Extensive knowledge of Mexican GAAP (NIFs), federal tax regulations (SAT), and electronic invoicing (CFDI) is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP implementation or major ERP system optimization is highly advantageous.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Proven expertise in foreign trade operations and payroll accounting within the Mexican context.
