Job Description:

Teceze is seeking a
Network Field Support Engineer
for a
one-day onsite activity
to support our client with network hardware refresh and wireless infrastructure upgrades. The engineer will provide
hands-and-feet support
and work closely with the client's Network SME during execution.

Scope of Work & Responsibilities:

Network Hardware & Rack Activities

  • Rack and stack new network switches and unmount existing/old switches.
  • Mount new switches in the rack without disturbing existing devices.
  • Migrate all network cables from old switches to new switches.
  • Perform complete decommissioning of old switches.

Wireless Access Point (AP) Activities

  • Unmount and decommission existing wireless access points.
  • Mount and install new wireless access points.
  • Replace all old APs with new APs.
  • Connect 2–3 new APs to the new switch for configuration and testing.
  • Label all newly installed switches and access points.

Cabling & Patch Panel Management

  • Patch panel management and cable tidy-up.
  • Ensure proper cable routing, structure, and labeling.
  • Use best practices for cable management using Velcro/cable ties.

Configuration & Testing Support

  • Provide console connectivity support to Network SME for remote configuration.
  • Assist during user testing and validation.
  • Test newly configured APs by connecting devices to the new Wi-Fi network.
  • Perform final failover testing to ensure network stability.
  • Conduct a Wi-Fi site survey to validate coverage and performance of the new APs.

Decommissioning

  • Unmount and decommission old switches and access points.
  • Pack decommissioned devices securely in new AP boxes.
  • Ensure complete decommission activity as per client instructions.

  • Ladder
  • Label printer
  • Drilling machine with screws
  • Console cable
  • Spare CAT6A patch cords
  • Laptop with charger
  • Cage nuts
  • Mobile phone with active internet connection
  • Cable ties (Velcro preferred)
  • Any additional tools required to complete the activity efficiently
