public relations coordinator

DECA MEDIA ) is a media and technology company in New York, NY. Main project is CIBOOK ), a global cultural initiative. DECA MEDIA hires a Junior Public Relations Coordinator based in Puebla, Mexico. Role reports directly to the Founder and CEO. Starting salary is 15,000 MXN per month, full time. Work mode is on site at the DECA MEDIA office in Puebla.

Role summary

You support media, press, and social communications for DECA MEDIA and CIBOOK in English. You help protect the brand, prepare content, and keep channels active so the Founder and CEO stays focused on strategy and partners.

Main responsibilities

• Draft and edit press releases, quotes, bios, and background texts in English.
• Prepare media lists from clear instructions and update contact details.
• Send tailored email pitches and follow up with journalists under supervision.
• Keep press materials, photos, and videos organized in OneDrive.
• Prepare media kits, one pagers, and presentations in Canva.
• Support daily content for company channels and Founder on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and X.
• Cut and subtitle short video clips for social use with AI tools.
• Track placements, mentions, and social metrics in executive reports.
• Log tasks in and keep due dates updated.
• Join weekly check in meetings with Founder and CEO and Operations Coordinator.
• Work each day from the DECA MEDIA office in Puebla during standard business hours.
• Join meetings with high profile professionals, partners, and participants.
• Prepare follow ups after each meeting and track every step of each process in and email until closure.

Profile and skills

• Native or near native English. Strong written English.
• Based in Puebla or ready to relocate to Puebla and work on site.
• One to three years experience in public relations, communications, journalism, or content, including internships or agency work.
• Evidence of past work, for example student projects, agency work, or freelance campaigns.
• Strong writing discipline, spelling, and grammar.
• High attention to detail and structure.
• Proactive attitude, you move work forward without reminders.
• Comfortable with direct feedback and high standards.
• Respect for confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
• Professional behavior in an office environment.

Tools

• Daily use of Microsoft 365 such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Knowledge of Canva or Adobe Express for graphics.
• Video and photography skills and interest in and AI tools for content.

Personal learning effort stays required.

Minimum requirements

• At least 1 year experience in a PR, communication, media, or marketing role for an organization, agency, brand, or project.
• Proven work with social media accounts for a brand, not only personal accounts.
• First exposure to media outreach or press work, even on small projects.
• Full time availability, Monday to Friday, on site in the office.
