As a Senior EHS Specialist, you will ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. You will lead initiatives to identify and mitigate risks, maintain regulatory and corporate compliance, and strengthen our environmental, health, and safety management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and control occupational health and safety risks.
  • Ensure compliance with Mexican safety, environmental, and labor regulations (NOMs, STPS, SEMARNAT, ECOL, etc).
  • Implement, maintain, and audit ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 management systems (ISO 50001 is a plus).
  • Conduct safety gemba walks, risk observations, and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
  • Plan and deliver EHS training, including emergency response, safety policies, and best practices.
  • Support customer and governmental audits.
  • Manage EHS documentation, chemical safety systems, waste handling, and environmental permits.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools such as Kaizen, 5S, and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS).
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production to incorporate safety and environmental requirements into equipment and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in EHS roles within industrial manufacturing (automotive preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican regulatory frameworks Safety & Environmental.
  • Proven experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and maintenance.
  • Solid skills in risk assessment, audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Experience with Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
  • Advanced English spoken and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to multicultural environments.
