echnical Product Owner (TPO) – Retail Lending

We are looking for a Technical Product Owner (TPO) with strong experience in retail lending and a solid technical background to drive high-impact digital transformation initiatives within a fast-growing financial organization.

Work Mode

  • Hybrid: remote work with on-site presence in Mexico City at least once per quarter (at the employee's own expense).
  • Contract type: Contractor
  • Compensation: Paid in USD

About the Role

The Technical Product Owner will work closely with business and technical teams to align technology solutions with business strategy. Although this role does not involve coding, it requires a strong technical background to define clear requirements, ensure quality deliverables, and support the full development lifecycle.

This role will be a key bridge between business stakeholders, analysts, and technology teams, driving continuous improvement of processes, products, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis and design of new business processes, leading requirements definition, information gathering, and consistent documentation.
  • Facilitate business requirements sessions with key stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Develop clear, concise, and unambiguous functional requirements for technical teams to minimize rework and errors.
  • Create Functional Specifications for system enhancements aligned with business needs.
  • Work closely with technical team members during design and development to ensure all requirements are properly addressed.
  • Coordinate updates to supporting documentation (training materials, procedures, etc.) throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in the development of test plans, execution of testing, and review of results.
  • Take part in quality management reviews, and in the review of designs, prototypes, and project deliverables.
  • Analyze opportunities for process improvements, better resource utilization, product enhancements, improved communication, and faster issue resolution.
  • Research, analyze, make business decisions, and defend recommendations at executive and senior management levels.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience as a TPO, Business Analyst, or similar role in retail banking loans / credit products.
  • Strong technical background (non-development role).
  • Experience in digital channel projects, transformation initiatives, or technology evolution programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Team player with strong adaptability to change.
  • Advanced English and Spanish (required).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields.
