About the job
Goods & Services is looking for a
Staff Automation Tester
who will lead software verification and validation for diagnostic product software, working with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate testing and documentation for medical devices. Candidates must be
located in or willing to relocate to Merida, Yucatan, Mexico
.

What you'll do:

  • Support testing activities through automation. Design and write test scenarios and test cases using Python.
  • Create automated testing solutions from technical designs, specifications, and requirements at the sub-system and system level.
  • Report and document software defects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve them and provide input on issues that impact product performance and system stability.
  • Review software requirements, specifications, and test procedures and improve the overall testing process.
  • Participate in scrum meetings and follow internal software development, cyber security, and validation procedures that comply with medical and security regulations.
  • Understand and be aware of the quality consequences that may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; have awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification, and validation, manufacturing and testing activities.
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned
  • Dedicate approximately 60%–70% of your time to developing test scripts. The remainder of the time (30%-40%) will involve understanding requirements, performing exploratory testing, designing test scenarios, and investigating defects.
  • Formally Participate in the execution of the prepared scripts and generate supporting documentation of the results during the "run for record" phase.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in testing, automation frameworks, or development using Python or C#.
  • 2+ years of experience creating and maintaining traceability, test coverage, and defect trends metrics.
  • 2+ years of experience working with one or more of the following tools: Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Crucible, Gerrit, or Jenkins.
  • Solid English communication skills or excellent documentation skills for highly regulated development environment.

Nice to have:

  • Experience automating testing throughout the entire software development lifecycle using various software testing practices, including black box, risk-based, integration, system, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Experience in a range of system engineering and V&V processes, including requirements definition, verification planning, test execution, test data analysis, and/or operations support an appreciation of detailed engineering documentation and sound technical skills.
  • Experience in testing products for the Medical industry.
  • Experience in testing cloud solutions.
