Technology Lead

Location: Monterrey, CDMX, or Guadalajara (Hybrid: 3 days per week at Infosys Office)

Job Description
We are looking for a highly experienced POD Lead with deep expertise in backend engineering, cloud-native development, and modern software delivery practices. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Python, microservices, and distributed systems, as well as the leadership skills needed to guide a cross-functional team toward delivering high-quality, scalable, and reliable enterprise applications. You will collaborate with architects, product managers, and engineers to drive design, development, and implementation efforts across the full software lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development within a cross-functional POD, driving end‑to‑end delivery of high‑quality software solutions
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable microservices and backend systems using Java, Spring, and Python
• Build APIs and integrations following modern RESTful service design best practices
• Lead containerization and orchestration initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes
• Architect and optimize caching solutions (Redis, Memcached, Hazelcast) for high‑performance applications
• Implement event‑driven architectures using Apache Kafka or similar messaging technologies
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices to ensure robust, automated delivery
• Work closely with cloud teams to deploy and manage applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Guide the team in the use of SQL (Postgres, MySQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL databases
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions
• Collaborate with Product Management, Architects, and Analysts to refine requirements and guide implementation strategy
• Mentor team members, share best practices, and ensure adherence to engineering standards
• Communicate risks, issues, and technical considerations effectively to stakeholders
• Ensure delivery commitments are met, while maintaining high engineering and quality standards

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive experience in Java and Spring frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring MVC)
• Strong experience with Python
• Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Hands-on experience designing and building microservices architectures
• Proficiency with RESTful API design best practices
• Experience with SQL databases (Postgres, MySQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL stores
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Experience with Apache Kafka or equivalent messaging systems
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation tooling
• Proficiency in Git and experience working with JIRA
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cline, Aider, Continue, Cursor)
• Basic understanding of LLMs (OpenAI, Claude), Model Context Protocol (MCP), and agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph)
• Experience designing enterprise‑grade applications or platforms
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and lead a team through complex challenges

Expectations

• Participate fully in all Agile ceremonies
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, and Engineering teams
• Drive development from concept to delivery, ensuring architectural alignment and compliance with standards
• Identify risks and issues early, document mitigation strategies, and drive them to resolution
• Present technical solutions and trade-offs in business terms when needed
• Communicate status, blockers, and risks clearly and in a timely manner
• Partner with Product to shape implementation strategy and prioritization
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure high engineering quality across the POD
• Target a minimum of 3–5 meaningful commits per day (50–100 per month) and deliver at least 10 story points per sprint
