The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operational Food Safety and Quality, the Quality and Food Safety Manager ensures that quality standards and procedures are in place, current and aligned with government regulations and customer specifications. This individual is responsible for managing the organizations quality assurance policies and procedures.



Jacona, Mexico | On-site, 5 days a week



What You'll Do

  • Provides leadership in the development, management and implementation of the company's Quality Assurance Programs and Policies (HACCP, SQF etc.). Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national and international standards and legislation.
  • Responsible for leading, developing, Hands-on coaching and directing the Quality Assurance team in achieving the goals and ambitions of the organization. Communicate expectations and manage employee performance.
  • Perform risk assessments on arising issues/incidents and follow up with preventive measures.
  • Perform gap analysis between applicable standards and/or regulations with current practices and QA systems. Establish and implement a quality plan to ensure the company meets industry and regulatory compliance. Advise executive team on system performance.
  • Work in partnership with all plant operations personnel to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of all quality control processes and programs.
  • Train the cross-functional team on quality expectations and lead pertaining change management needs.
  • Navigate throughout different platforms and tools for traceability, records keeping and management review.
  • Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures. Conduct risk analyses, verification, validation activities, and formal design reviews, as applicable.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products manufactured by the plant as well as the raw materials, packaging materials, and operations required in the manufacturing process, including quality specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with client-facing customer service representatives to ensure full customer satisfaction with the company's products and services.
  • Support new product development and continuous improvement by integrating quality control tools into processes.
  • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related discipline.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in progressively senior Quality Assurance and Food Safety roles in a Food processing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality, process control software and tools
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership and management role in food industry.
  • The following training/certificates would be a plus: SQF certificate, PCQI for Human food, and HACCP certification.
