Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Web Application Firewall (WAF) Specialist. The WAF Specialist will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and managing web application firewalls to safeguard web applications against cyber threats. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring and analyzing security events, troubleshooting, optimizing firewall policies, and providing recommendations to enhance application security. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a secure and compliant web infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience with WAF tools and technologies, configuring, and maintaining firewall policies
• Skills in identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, implementing threat detection, and response protocols
• Strong understanding of web application security, OWASP Top 10, and secure coding principles
• Familiarity with cloud security platforms and environments is an advantage
• Proficiency in networking concepts, HTTP, and DNS
• Critical thinking, problem-solving aptitude, and strong communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or similar field, or equivalent work experience
• Relevant certifications such as CEH, CISSP, or GIAC are advantageous
