As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a fully bilingual Communications Advisor and be part of our team in San Luis Potosi.

Objective: To ensure clear, consistent, and strategic communication that supports Outokumpu business area Americas' goals, brand, and reputation – internally and externally.

Outokumpu is the global leader in sustainable stainless steel. We employ some 9,000 professionals in more than 30 countries who set the gold standard for innovation. The Americas is headquartered in Calvert, Mobile County, Alabama; home to one of the most technically advanced integrated stainless-steel mill in the United States. The Americas' footprint also expands to San Luis Potosi, Mexico, which is the only stainless steel cold rolling mill plus service center in the country. Additionally, Outokumpu business area Americas has a commercial office in Brazil.

Job qualifications and experience requirements:

  • Proficiency in English language – oral and written
  • Bachelor's degree in either Communications, Marketing or similar.
  • Experience in a manufacturing company or public relations/advertasing agency is beneficial
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, social media platforms, translations from English to Spanish and vice versa.
  • Experience in a manufacturing company or public relations/advertising agency is beneficial.
  • Graphics design is appreciated but not required.
  • Must be able to work in office at least three (3) days out of the work week.
  • Attend evening or weekend events, as needed.

Competencies and skills:

  • Event planning/project management and working with third party vendors are a plus

Some responsibilities are:


•    Develop and deliver communication plans, programs, and campaigns that inform, align, and inspire employees in line with Outokumpu's strategy and communications priorities 

•    Create high-quality communications materials for internal and external communications, such as key messages, presentations, intranet articles, and social media posts, digital board announcements

•    Act as a local superuser for digital communication tools, providing guidance and support to local stakeholders to ensure effective use of tools and platforms.

•    Collaborate with Americas Communications and Global Communications teams to manage public facing content that could include press releases, responding to media inquiries, media monitoring, developing social media campaigns, updating website, etc.

•    Write (AP Style), edit, and proofread content for various platforms. Develop messaging that aligns with company narrative, values and tone.

•    Serve as a communications sparring partner and collaborate with departments (Human Resources, Commercial, Operations, leadership) to support strategic communications initiatives. 

•    Support leadership communication (e.g., townhalls, executive messages, internal and external presentations). 

•    Plan and execute internal and external events (team member events, leadership visits, community volunteer outreach)

•    Manage timelines, approvals, and distribution of communication materials.

•    Contribute to group-level projects and processes as needed (e.g., translations support for Spanish)

•    Duties as assigned.

Salary: 31,230 pesos mes.
