About the position

The User Experience Designer role is primarily tasked with supporting our US-based clients and working with a large project team in delivering impactful solutions for our clients. This role is focused on the visual and interaction design of a custom enterprise

Transportation Management System (TMS), specifically centered around the integration of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) software and workflow automation.

• Full Remote position

What will you be doing?

• Design high-fidelity screen layouts and user interfaces that integrate automated document processing features into the client's existing TMS.
• Create interactive, clickable prototypes to demonstrate complex workflows and validate design concepts with stakeholders and users.
• Lead the expansion of the design system by building and maintaining a comprehensive library of UI components, ensuring consistency across the application.
• Collaborate closely with the UX Researcher to incorporate user feedback and data-driven insights into design iterations.
• Partner with product owners and engineering teams (working in React and .NET environments) to ensure design feasibility and smooth developer handoff.
• Develop user flows and wireframes that effectively bridge the gap between manual processes and automated OCR-driven solutions.
• Present design concepts and prototypes to client stakeholders, clearly articulating design decisions and how they solve specific user pain points.
• Support the development of executive-level presentations and design deliverables that adhere to Metafora brand standards.
• Support in the development of executive level presentations / deliverables in Google Slides that adhere to Metafora brand standards.
• Adapt to remote collaboration tools and communication methods to align with the US-based team.

What will you be doing?

• Define comprehensive research goals and select appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate complex business processes.
• Lead the recruitment of participants and conduct user interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability testing to understand current manual document processing workflows.
• Analyze user behavior to identify pain points, motivations, and opportunities for efficiency gains through the implementation of document processing and OCR technology.
• Collaborate closely with the UX Designer and technical leads to translate research findings into actionable insights, creating personas, user journey maps, and future-state service blueprints.
• Research and benchmark industry best practices regarding automated document processing and OCR to ensure client solutions are best-in-class.
• Present findings and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders and the engineering team to influence the design of automated workflows.
• Conduct validation testing on proposed automated solutions to ensure they meet user needs and deliver quantifiable efficiency improvements.
• Develop and maintain research documentation and contribute to the overall project reporting structure.
• Support in the development of executive level presentations / deliverables in Google Slides that adhere to Metafora brand standards.
• Adapt to remote collaboration tools and communication methods to align with the US-based team.

• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Anthropology, Design, or a related field.
• 3-7 years of professional experience in User Experience Research, preferably within a consulting, enterprise software, or logistics environment.
• Proficiency in visual collaboration and design tools such as Miro, Visio, and Figma to map workflows and present insights.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs) for data analysis and presentation.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Experience researching or working with document processing software, OCR, or workflow automation tools is highly preferred.
