QA Engineer (AI-Augmented Testing)

About the Role

We are seeking a
QA Engineer
with experience in
AI-assisted test automation
to join our team. In this role, you'll combine your expertise in quality engineering with modern AI tooling to
design, generate, and maintain test suites
. You will focus primarily on
web applications
and
browser plugins
, ensuring a high-quality user experience across our supported platforms.

You'll collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and DevOps engineers to build scalable, intelligent testing pipelines that help us ship features faster, with greater confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• AI-Enhanced Test Development
• Use AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or custom LLM pipelines) to generate, refactor, and maintain automated test cases.
• Apply human review and critical thinking to ensure generated tests are accurate, maintainable, and aligned with business logic.
• Web & Browser Plugin QA
• Design, execute, and maintain end-to-end test coverage for web applications and browser extensions.
• Validate functionality across different browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) and operating systems.
• Develop regression test suites specific to browser APIs, extension permissions, and content scripts.
• Test Automation & Frameworks
• Build and maintain automated test frameworks using tools like
  Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Puppeteer
  , or similar.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Ensure efficient test execution by leveraging test parallelization, smart retries, and AI-assisted test optimization.
• Continuous Quality & Monitoring
• Work with developers to adopt a "shift-left" testing mindset.
• Set up automated checks for performance, security, and accessibility.
• Analyze test results and use AI-driven insights to identify flaky tests, root causes, and coverage gaps.
• Collaboration & Documentation
• Partner with engineers, product, and design teams to define clear acceptance criteria.
• Document test strategies and share AI-driven QA best practices across the team.
• Mentor colleagues on using AI tools effectively in QA workflows.

Qualifications

Required:

• 3+ years experience in QA engineering or test automation for web applications.
• Hands-on experience with at least one modern web testing framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, etc.).
• Knowledge of
  browser plugin development or testing
  (Chrome/Firefox extensions).
• Familiarity with
  CI/CD pipelines
  and cloud-based testing (Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, etc.).
• Comfort with using
  AI-assisted coding/testing tools
  to accelerate workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to critique AI-generated code.

Preferred:

• Experience with
  Fastlane
  ,
  GitHub Actions
  , or similar automation for deployment/testing.
• Understanding of
  LLM prompt engineering
  and AI-assisted developer workflows.
• Familiarity with testing non-functional requirements: performance, security, accessibility.
• Strong programming background (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar).
