Staff Frontend Engineer

This role is ideal for a highly experienced frontend engineer passionate about creating intuitive and high-performing interfaces that enhance knowledge workflows. You will lead frontend technical decisions for features like Wikis, Pages, Rich Text Editors, and Query Language Views, driving architecture improvements, accessibility enhancements, and performance optimizations. Collaborating closely with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders, you will mentor teammates, define best practices, and contribute to AI-powered capabilities that improve content creation and collaboration. Operating in a fully remote, asynchronous environment, you will have the opportunity to influence cross-team technical strategy while delivering scalable solutions that impact thousands of users across the APAC region. This position combines hands-on development, strategic leadership, and mentorship responsibilities in a dynamic and innovative environment.

• Lead the design, evolution, and maintenance of frontend architecture, establishing patterns and best practices that improve reliability, accessibility, and performance.
• Develop user interfaces for Wikis, Pages, Markdown, Text Editors, and Query Language Views that serve both technical and non-technical users.
• Drive technical direction of Rich Text Editor components, ensuring scalable, collaborative editing experiences and consistent behavior across browsers and devices.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Security, and backend engineering teams to ship iterative, well-scoped features that enhance knowledge management workflows.
• Mentor and coach frontend engineers through pairing, code reviews, and documentation to elevate technical standards across the team.
• Improve frontend test coverage, monitoring, and debugging practices to prevent regressions and reduce production incidents.
• Partner with adjacent teams and frontend technical leaders to align shared components, patterns, and standards across the broader product ecosystem.
• Contribute to AI-powered features and experiments that enhance content creation, discovery, and collaboration capabilities.

• Proven experience leading frontend technical direction and influencing architecture decisions in complex applications, ideally at a staff or senior level.
• Strong proficiency in and modern JavaScript, including state management, performance optimization, and debugging for large-scale applications.
• Hands-on experience with rich text editor frameworks such as TipTap, ProseMirror, Slate, or similar, and working with GraphQL APIs.
• Practical understanding of accessibility standards and testing to ensure reliable interfaces across browsers, devices, and assistive technologies.
• Experience delivering iterative, user-facing features in collaboration with Product, UX, Security, and backend teams.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, provide constructive feedback, and guide technical decision-making.
• Comfortable in a fully remote, asynchronous environment, with excellent written communication, documentation skills, and an ownership mindset.
