Position summary:

This position is responsible for developing detailed design and specifications in 3D modeling and 2D layouts for new and existing HVAC products by using Computer Assisted Design (CAD) software. Support project and sustaining Engineers to release Engineering changes through bills of materials and drawings. May oversee the building of Engineering prototypes to understand the design changes based upon the outcome. Communicate with manufacturing to ensure the form of design.

Position responsibilities:

·Develop 3D models and 2D production drawings/layouts by using
Creo

·Plan, Coordinate and check Engineering CAD design changes prior to checker/supervisor review.

·Develop and design new and existing 3D models based upon DFM (Design for Manufacturability)

·Attention to details while creating new CAD designs and working with Bill of materials.

·Create bills of material from 3D CAD models using PLM system i.e., Team Center

·Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.

·Managing the resolution of CAD related issues and tasks.

·Perform revising, editing, and updating changes to drawings based on revised sketches, notes, drawings, and verbal instruction.

·Being involved in leading troubleshooting/problem solving on constructability/design issues

·Work within cross functional teams.

·Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals

Knowledge and skills:

•Proficiency in
Creo
6.0 and up (Pro-sheet metal, Pro-piping, and Solid modeling)

•Able to develop advance level designs in 3D modeling.

•Proficient in understanding Bills of Material of functional product.

•Able to understand, modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.

•Have excellent mechanical design and hands on background.

•Able to manage the resolution of CAD related issues and tasks.

•Able to perform CAD assembly interference detection reports and suggest the resolutions.

•Good knowledge of product design and engineering change processes

•Working experience in PLM system such as Team Center and or SAP

•Able to learn and apply new technology as needed.

•Ability to read and interpret documents such as design standards, design procedures and safety rules.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•Strong Coordination skills

•Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment.

•Basic computer Skills (MS office etc.)

Experience:

•5+ years of Sheet metal design or equipment design and design for manufacturability

Education:

•Associates degree or certificate in CAD design or Mechanical Design Engineering preferred
