Operations Manager
who can bring the same clarity and structure to our day-to-day operations.

The Role:

As our
Operations Manager
, you'll be the operational backbone of the studio—ensuring projects run smoothly, the team is supported, and the business side of our creative work is handled with care and precision. You'll work closely with the founder, studio lead, lighting designers and project managers to align resources, improve processes, and maintain a healthy rhythm across all projects.

This is a key role for someone who loves keeping the gears turning behind the scenes and is energized by supporting creative teams in doing their best work.

Responsibilities:

Studio Operations & Resourcing


• Manage the studio's day-to-day operations to ensure projects stay on time and within budget.


• Support project scheduling and resource planning across multiple timelines.


• Develop and refine operational systems, processes, and tools to support workflow efficiency.

Project & Financial Oversight


• Track project deliverables, timelines, and milestones, raising flags as needed.


• Assist in managing budgets, forecasts, invoicing, and contract administration in coordination with finance.


• Support with consultant agreements, fee proposals, and collaborator coordination.

Team & Culture


• Build a culture of accountability to business success as well as design quality and client service.


• Oversee onboarding and support processes for new team members.


• Maintain a positive and well-organized studio culture that encourages collaboration, accountability, and creative focus.


• Coordinate internal meetings, design reviews, training and studio-wide communications.

Strategic & Operational Improvements


• Identify, negotiate and implement opportunities for improving systems, tools, and workflows.


• Help streamline documentation and project archiving processes.


• Support studio leadership with reporting, KPIs, and operational insights.

What We're Looking For:


• 7+ years of experience in operations, studio management, or project coordination—ideally in a design- or architecture-related field.


• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.


• Proactive mindset with a high level of initiative and follow-through.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Comfortable juggling multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment.


• Familiarity with tools like Klient (or other time management software), Accounting Software, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and/or architectural drawing software is a plus.

Bonus Points If You:


• Have experience working within an architectural, lighting, or design studio environment.


• Experience working with international collaborators and understand their expectations.


• Understand the design process from concept to construction documentation.


• Bring a genuine appreciation for lighting design, architecture, or the built environment.
