What You'll Do
Design, develop, and optimize embedded C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers (e.g., ARM, PIC, AVR) to control hardware functionality, handle peripherals, and implement communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet).Collaborate with hardware engineers during circuit design and component selection, and inform the firmware perspective on hardware architecture decisions and tradeoffsReview schematics and PCB layouts to ensure firmware compatibility Develop comprehensive test plans and automated test frameworks for firmware validationDebug complex issues spanning firmware, hardware, and mechanical systemsEnsure compliance with relevant safety standards (UL, CE, FCC) and regulatory requirementsImplement diagnostic features and error handling for manufacturing and field supportDocument firmware architecture, interfaces, and design decisionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including mechanical, electrical, and New Product Development teams, to ensure successful project deliveryContribute to technical roadmap planning and technology evaluationWhat You Need
Experience: 4-7 years of related experienceEducation: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fieldTechnical Skills: Expert in MS Office, especially Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ExcelStrong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systemsDeep understanding of microcontroller architecturesExperience with RTOS or bare-metal developmentSolid knowledge of digital and analog electronics fundamentalsProficiency with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN)Experience with NFC protocol stack implementationExperience with debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD debuggers)Understanding of power electronics and motor control principlesExperience with safety-critical systems and functional safety standardsFamiliarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelinesExperience with Python for scripting and automationBilingual in English and Spanish Physical Demands:Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day, with walking and standing required frequentlyVisual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading documents, reports, and emailsRepetitive hand movements for tasks like typing or assemblyAmount of Travel Required: Up to 25% travel requiredSalary & Perks
