We are seeking a highly experienced QA Engineering Manager / QA Lead to take ownership of our quality strategy, lead high-performing engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-quality software products. This role is ideal for a technical leader with deep experience in QA automation, TDD, CI/CD validation, and quality-first engineering practices.

You will be responsible for defining and enforcing QA standards, guiding test automation initiatives, elevating engineering quality, and partnering cross-functionally to align delivery with business objectives. You will lead global or multi-disciplinary teams, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of accountability, testing excellence, and strong engineering fundamentals.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute the overall QA strategy across engineering teams.
  • Implement and reinforce test-first development (TDD), unit, integration, and automated testing practices.
  • Establish QA gates, definitions of done (DoD), and quality benchmarks that ensure consistent delivery.

Team Management & Coaching

  • Lead, mentor, and scale global engineering/QA teams ensuring high performance and ownership.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and effective communication.
  • Align team activities with product, business, and architectural priorities.

Automation & CI/CD Excellence

  • Drive the adoption of automated testing within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Oversee QA automation frameworks and continuous validation patterns.
  • Ensure ephemeral test environments, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and modern testing workflows are consistently implemented.

Technical Execution & Delivery

  • Oversee high-reliability data pipelines, microservices, and application quality.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and IT teams to reduce ambiguity and ensure clear testable requirements.
  • Support cost optimization, cloud modernization, and automation initiatives in Azure and related data platforms.

Security & Compliance

  • Partner with security teams to apply vulnerability scanning and code quality tools such as Rapid7, Cycode, SonarQube, and Burp.
  • Ensure security and QA checkpoints are embedded throughout the software lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, QA, and technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience as QA Manager, QA Lead, Engineering Manager, or Tech Lead.
  • Strong background in QA automation, TDD, unit/integration testing, CI/CD validation.
  • Hands-on technical experience in Java, Python, Scala, SQL, or similar languages.
  • Experience with Databricks, Airflow, Azure, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, microservices, and modern cloud architectures.
  • Experience leading global or multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience designing QA frameworks for data-heavy or distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with Singlestore or other modern data platforms.
  • Prior experience as a Security Champion or with DevSecOps practices.
  • Agile/Scrum leadership and cross-functional alignment experience.
