Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage scalable data infrastructure using AWS services like ECS, RDS, Athena, Glue, S3, EBS, CloudFormation, IAM, and Redshift
  • Automate infrastructure deployment with tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
  • Work alongside data engineering and analytics teams to optimize data pipelines utilizing Python and AWS Glue
  • Establish and maintain CI/CD best practices in AWS environments using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or similar tools
  • Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and cost management of cloud data platforms
  • Incorporate advanced data tools including Apache Airflow and Apache Spark on AWS EMR to enhance workflows
  • Address and troubleshoot complex AWS system issues, performing root cause analysis when necessary
  • Implement robust IAM, data security policies, encryption, and AWS compliance standards
  • Conduct capacity planning, resource optimization, and cost control for critical data platform resources
  • Support and mentor junior and mid-level team members, advocating best practices

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years in Data Engineering, DevOps, or similar roles with a focus on cloud infrastructure and automation
  • Strong programming experience in Python for scripting, automation, and process optimization
  • Solid SQL skills for handling large datasets
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS data services such as Redshift, Glue, EMR, and Athena
  • Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible
  • Skill in building and managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or equivalent
  • Experience using distributed data processing and orchestration platforms like Apache Spark and Apache Airflow
  • Advanced Linux system administration and tuning capabilities in cloud contexts
  • Good understanding of networking protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP, DNS, NAT) in cloud environments
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure automation using Terraform or similar
  • Proven ability to install and operate data platforms such as Apache Kafka and NiFi
  • Capability to lead projects and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
  • Professional English proficiency (B2 or higher)

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud platforms beyond AWS like Azure or GCP, including hybrid cloud strategies
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools like R and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Knowledge of advanced CI/CD solutions like Bamboo
  • Experience in hybrid cloud and on-premises data architectures ensuring secure and scalable data flows
  • Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, or AWS ECS/EKS
