QA Engineer

Summary

The QA Engineer works within an Agile, collaborative development team to ensure product quality and reliability. This role is responsible for validating software before release, confirming it meets requirements, operates efficiently, and aligns with client needs. The position includes reviewing system specifications, creating and executing test plans, and monitoring quality metrics.

Responsibilities

• Review business and technical requirements to provide timely feedback.
• Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and automation scripts (SOAP UI, JMeter, etc.).
• Plan, prioritize, and manage testing activities.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Perform regression testing on resolved issues.
• Define and implement QA processes for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and other teams to clarify requirements.
• Track and report QA metrics such as defect density and open defect counts.
• Stay current with emerging testing tools and methodologies. Required Skills
• Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in software QA and testing.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Ability to create clear and comprehensive test plans and cases.
• Experience with white-box and black-box testing.
• Practical experience with test automation tools.
• Solid SQL and scripting proficiency.
• Background in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with performance or security testing is a plus.
• Professional demeanor and ability to work independently or follow direction.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to read and write English; fluent communication is a plus.

Prerequisites:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering/Related degree or equivalent work experience.
