opportunity for a Client Accountant in our Mexico Office. 

Role Description

The Client Accountant handles all aspects of
designated client's premium and loss accounting processing, serves as the
primary accounting contact for the client and supports our teams/business
segments.

The Client
Accountant will generally be assigned Latin America based clients with a range
of business relationships involving Property and Casualty facultative
reinsurance solutions. The Client Accountants accounting functions include
taking on a portfolio of client accounts and engaging directly with the clients
to manage all aspects of the day-to-day processing of these accounts. The
Client Accountant is expected to comfortably interact with internal and
external clients and respond effectively to their questions and concerns.

Key responsibilities

• Review and reconcile facultative reinsurance closings and statements of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Register losses into the reinsurance accounting systems for facultative business
  
• Credit control and account settlement
  
• Respond to client inquiries and requests on all accounting issues
  
• Manage receivables for clients to prevent overdue balances
  
• Perform automation of processes like checking of accounts with MS Excel or programming where applicable
  
• Interacting with multiple Business Units
  
• Participate in initiatives and projects
  
• Ad hoc functions pertaining to account maintenance

Role Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant reinsurance experience preferred
  
• Good knowledge and understanding of the insurance/reinsurance industries
• Fluency in written and spoken English is a must
  
• Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ideally experience with SAP applications or other reinsurance accounting systems
  
• Good customer service/client relations skills
  
• Confident when communicating with more senior colleagues throughout the organisation
  
• Solid organisational and self-management skills, ability to remain calm under pressure
  
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks to completion
  
• Works effectively in a team-based environment
  
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities
