Senior Data Scientist – Pricing & Demand Analytics (2 Positions: Optimization / Predictive Modeling)
 Location: LATAM or Global
 Work type: Remote, full-time
Time zone: Overlap with US Central (CST) preferred

About the project
We're partnering with a global retail and CPG analytics company that's transforming how businesses make pricing and promotional decisions. Their goal is to leverage AI, data science, and optimization to drive smarter strategies across product lines, channels, and markets.

As part of a growing Data Science team, you'll help build scalable, data-driven models to optimize pricing and predict demand and promotional effectiveness—with direct impact on business outcomes.

Who we're looking for
We're hiring for two Senior Data Scientist roles, each with a different technical focus:

  1. Optimization-Focused Role: You'll develop price optimization algorithms using operations research (OR) techniques like linear/mixed-integer programming and elasticity modeling.

  2. Predictive Modeling Role: You'll design machine learning models to forecast demand, evaluate promotions, and measure performance of markdown and bundling strategies.

Both roles are hands-on, cross-functional, and ideal for problem solvers who thrive in data-heavy, production-oriented environments.

Tech stack
Languages: Python (pandas, OOP), SQL
Optimization Tools (Role 1): Pyomo, PuLP
ML Tools (Role 2): scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Numpy
Data Handling: Time series analysis, transactional data
Infrastructure (Nice to have): Databricks, Spark, Streamlit, Flask
Environment: Cloud-based systems, CI/CD pipelines, Git

What you'll do
Explore and analyze structured/unstructured data to identify patterns and trends
Build and prototype data models tailored to pricing and promotional analytics
Develop and test optimization or predictive models, depending on your focus
Translate insights into clear, impactful visualizations and reports
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deploy solutions at scale
Ensure quality and performance through model testing, validation, and iteration

What you need
2+ years of experience in Retail or CPG pricing/demand analytics
Strong Python and SQL skills
Hands-on experience in either:

  • Optimization modeling (elasticity, OR, LP/MIP)

  • ML modeling (forecasting, uplift, regression, etc.)
    Experience with time series analysis and data storytelling
    Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate complex ideas clearly
    Bachelor's or higher in Data Science, OR, Applied Math, Stats, or Computer Science
    English fluency (spoken and written)

Bonus points for
Experience with Databricks or Spark
Familiarity with building simple UIs (e.g., Streamlit, Flask)
Knowledge of CI/CD and cloud production environments
Background in pricing, elasticity, and promotions in commercial contexts
