Job Opening – Quality Engineer (Tecate, B.C.)

Position

Main Objective

Ensure quality in manufacturing processes by measuring, implementing, and monitoring actions using applicable and effective methodologies.

General Responsibilities

-Coordinate quality assurance and control activities.

-Measure and evaluate quality metrics aligned with corporate objectives.

-Implement, develop, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).

-Ensure compliance with ISO-9001 standards.

-Generate reports, analyze data, and assign corrective actions.

-Follow up on customer complaints and ensure improvement mechanisms.

-Issue quality alerts and monitor product containment to prevent future escapes.

Specific Responsibilities

-Maintain and implement ISO-9001 certification.

-Promote and disseminate quality policies and objectives.

-Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

-Perform inspections, tests, and measurements of materials/products.

-Coordinate and develop quality inspectors.

-Manage calibration of metrology equipment.

-Generate internal audit plans and prepare for external audits.

-Coordinate document control and maintain staff records (Kardex).

-Supervise effectiveness of training in quality procedures.

-Participate in transfer evaluations for new projects/processes.

Job Profile

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Electronic Engineering.

Experience: 1–3 years in quality systems, assurance, and control.

Technical Knowledge:

SMT (Surface Mount Technology)

ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)

ESD audits

Statistical process control in SMT

Skills:

Advanced lean manufacturing tools.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Languages: 80% English (spoken and written).

Availability: Flexible schedule.
