Role Overview

The Digital Product Owner – D2C will lead the development and execution of enterprise digital products that enhance customer experience and deliver measurable business value. This role serves as the critical link between business strategy and technology delivery, ensuring product roadmaps and backlogs align with strategic priorities.

This role focuses on the design and delivery of a comprehensive Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) digital product that extends beyond selling batteries and adjacent products. The platform will enable an integrated customer experience, including capabilities such as home delivery, installation services, and other value-added offerings.

The ideal candidate is technically proficient, highly collaborative, and an effective communicator who can partner across business, CX leadership, and technology teams to drive successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the vision for the D2C digital product, encompassing e-commerce, service delivery, and customer engagement capabilities
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap that integrates product sales with CX services (e.g., home delivery, installation scheduling, loyalty programs)
  • Manage the end-to-end digital product lifecycle from concept through launch, serving as the voice of the customer to technology teams
  • Establish business goals, value propositions, and success metrics (OKRs, KPIs, ROI) in partnership with CX leadership and stakeholders
  • Work with business process owners to understand desired business outcomes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize product backlogs
  • Validate backlog readiness and feasibility, ensuring alignment with business value
  • Define and document Epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in alignment with IT standards
  • Lead sprint demos and reviews to gather feedback and drive continuous improvement
  • Oversee execution of product features through build, test, and rollout phases
  • Ensure robust testing practices, including unit, integration, UAT, regression, performance, and security testing
  • Manage defect triage, resolution, and readiness for production deployment
  • Validate business and technical readiness for launch, including training and communication plans
  • Act as the primary liaison between business, IT, and delivery teams, ensuring transparency and alignment
  • Gather and analyze customer and stakeholder feedback to inform backlog refinement and future enhancements
  • Plan and prioritize future improvements based on business outcomes and customer insights
  • Conduct market research to anticipate future customer needs and market opportunities
  • Serve as a digital product evangelist, representing the product in steering committees and governance forums

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager supporting digital or customer experience platforms
  • Strong understanding of D2C, e-commerce, and customer experience ecosystems
  • Experience managing product backlogs, roadmaps, and Agile delivery processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to translate business strategy into actionable product requirements
  • Comfortable working across business, technology, and operations teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering customer-facing digital platforms at enterprise scale
  • Familiarity with CX platforms, service delivery models, or omnichannel experiences
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using metrics to drive product decisions
