What you'll do?
  • Design and deliver engaging, conceptually challenging, and inquiry-based lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme curricula.
  • Prepare students for IGCSE and IB examinations
  • Foster critical thinking and scientific literacy in a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
  • Guide individual investigations (IA) for the IB and facilitate hands-on experiments in the lab.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in interdisciplinary planning and participate in professional learning communities.
  • Support students' academic and personal development, including offering guidance during the Extended Essay (EE) process, especially for Science topics.
    Maintain accurate records of student achievement and contribute to report writing and parent-teacher conferences.

REQUIREMENTS

What you need
  • Bachelor's degree in Science (Biology, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Management, Ecology or other relevant degrees)
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ideally, 2 years of previous teaching experience in upper school science.
    Teaching certification or licensure appropriate is an advantage.
Essential skills
  • Scientific Content Mastery: In-depth knowledge in one or more disciplines.
  • English Language Proficiency: Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and precisely in English.
  • Curriculum Planning and Pedagogy: Experience with IGCSE and/or IB DP frameworks, and ability to design inquiry units and practical experiences.
  • Instructional and Technological Skills: Proficiency in digital tools and educational platforms to enhance science teaching (e.g., Google Classroom).
  • Safe and Inclusive Environment: Ability to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment, with application of clear routines and safety norms, especially in laboratory activities.
  • Critical Thinking and International Perspective: Ability to promote critical thinking and an international outlook among students.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary departments or academic committees, and participation in continuous professional development, IB or Cambridge workshops.
