Position Overview

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's fluid dispensing systems. This role interfaces directly with customers to install, set up, and troubleshoot machines, as well as to assist with the startup of fluid dispensing processes. Additionally, this position involves post-sales support, providing training to customers and staff, and offering direct sales support. Responsibilities also include in-house equipment repair and the refurbishment of used machines.

Key Responsibilities

• Installs new equipment for customers
• Performs both preventive maintenance and emergency on-site repair
• Conducts in-house repair of equipment
• Handles the refurbishment and renovation of used machines
• Provides customer support via telephone and email from the office
• Assists customers with application support
• Offers support to the sales team
• Summarizes and provides feedback on the application characteristics of different regional markets to assist with product adjustments
• Travel as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field such as Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field required
• Two to three years of related technical support and/or direct experience with fluid dispensing systems required
• Demonstrates a strong customer-centric mindset, actively working to understand and address customer needs to ensure their satisfaction and success
• Industry-specific experience and familiarity with industry product preferred
• Ability to read and use electrical schematics for troubleshooting
• Experience with electrical tools (i.e. multi-meter), components and testing for functionality
• Mechanically inclined for fixing/updating machines in the field; including use of basic tools (wrenches, pliers, etc.)
• Adept and effective communication skills
• Ability to travel internationally, and be away from home for one week (up-to two weeks on rare occasions, and possible travel over the weekend)
• Proficiency in English as a working language is required; ability to speak Spanish or Chinese is a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Standard office environment. Significant computer work should be expected.

Travel Requirements: Occasional domestic and international travel is expected.
