JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the design and implementation of work cells in machining and assembly, maintaining standard work per KPS guidelines.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for process improvements and daily manufacturing engineering support to the plant floor
- Provide technical support for manufacturing cells in a manufacturing environment
- Champion for introduction of new products to plant's Machining & Assembly operation
- Responsible for continuous improvement activities of the plant's machining/assembly processes
- Design and implement mistake proofing devices in the production floor.
- Develop and prepare capital projects to implement process improvements
- Participate and support Lean manufacturing and KPS activities
- Primary responsible for PFMEA linkage and flow-down activities
- Responsible for maintaining process documentation
- Responsible for SAP Work centers, routings and production versions loading and maintenance
- Has the authority to stop the production and/or shipment in case the quality of the product is compromised, in order to request the help needed to solve the problem.
- Ensure customer requirements are met
- Knows and Communicates the need for product safety.
- Performs all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.
Management & Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Reports to plant engineering Manager.
- Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees. Co-ops or students may report to this position.

- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (hands-on)
- Time and motion study and improvement, work balancing
