Job Description
The Application Consultant is a customer-facing role where you will support sellers in engaging main customer partners to influence them to value Rockwell Automation as a trusted delivery partner. You will provide domain expertise during negotiations phase of a project, developing and aligning scope with customer budgets, supports forecasting, reviews opportunities with our distributors, and manages the opportunity pipeline.
Develop technical solutions and management processes by means of implementing systems or enterprise wide solutions, using our or a third-party's hardware/software products. Develop and recommend solutions and strategies, based on goals, and existing systems infrastructure. Participate in sales and proposal presentations in addition to completing ongoing team account activities. Identify additional product/services opportunities in customer organization.
You will report to the LCS APP CON TEAM LEAD
Your Responsibilities
- Identify and understand the customers' needs and be able to position and quote a desired outcome for a solution.
- Work with Sales, Consultants and Specialists both internally and externally to assess and respond to projects and support services opportunities
- Manage the process from request intake, through information gathering, scope definition, solution design, costing, and approvals.
- Collaborate with Sales, Solution Consultants, Sales Specialists, Engineering, Services, and your peer proposal teams regional/global
- Forecast the process, hold opportunity schedule reviews with distributor partners and manage their funnel
- Demonstrate the ability to expand the scope of solutions requested by incorporating the full portfolio of LCS offerings when applicable.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have
- 5+ years pre-sales, direct sales or consulting experience as an estimator, or Field Service Engineer or other project/application engineering-focused positions.
- 10-25% travel to customers within assigned geography
- You demonstrated understanding of the larger Rockwell Automation application value. This understanding included knowledge in Automation products, such as PLC (new and legacy product line), Standard Drives (LV/MV), Motion, Software, and Networks. Additionally, it encompassed knowledge of third-party products.
- Experience maintaining an organized and up-to-date pipeline of opportunities, concern for the exact correctness of work, and commitment to tasks completed
- Exhibit teamwork, customer service and organizational skills.
- Retain and convey a in challenging circumstances
- Experience balancing multiple sales opportunities and projects simultaneously, ensuring you manage partner expectations.
- Ability to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Passionate about developing goals and processes to improve our customer experience.
- Fluency with native language and command of English (written and spoken).
