Headwear Designer and Product Developer

At Maxima Apparel, we're on a mission to revolutionize the speed-to-market manufacturing and design industry, setting new benchmarks for agility and innovation. Our production platform proudly serves some of the industry's leading names. As we continue to expand our portfolio of brands and licenses, we're seeking a passionate and visionary Headwear Graphic Designer to support our Pro Standard (MLB, NFL, NBA, & WNBA business). The ideal candidate will work closely with senior/director to bring our brand vision to life, creating compelling graphics and development of bulk goods.

Your responsibilities:

Graphic Development:
Create and execute graphic design elements for headwear collections, ensuring designs align with brand identity and market trends.

Graphic Quality Control:
Ensure the quality control of all graphic designs, including reviewing art files for consistency, accuracy, and adherence to design standards. Collaborate with production teams to ensure that designs are translated accurately onto physical products.

Project Management:
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, balancing priorities to meet deadlines while ensuring high-quality results.

Handoffs and Tech Packs:
Create documents that outline the technical specifications including all the design details.

Design and Development Ownership:
Support the design process from concept to final product collaborating with international teams to ensure consistency and quality through the means of PLM. Adapt designs based on feedback, incorporating for finalization and action direction from management.

Product Development:
Facilitate constructive feedback from factory and overseas development teams on construction and materials through regular product reviews and participate in factory development process improvements that increase workflow efficiency.

Sample Evaluation
: Receive, assist in the measurement, evaluation, documentation, & distribution of incoming samples.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with teams across product development, marketing, and licensing to ensure designs meet commercial objectives and uphold brand integrity.

Time Management:
Effectively manage tight deadlines while balancing the demands of licensors and SKUs.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a designer and product developer in Headwear industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills.
  • Proficient in industry-standard design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of headwear construction, fabric properties, embroideries, and print techniques.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with international teams.
  • A keen eye for detail, ensuring designs meet brand standards and maintain high quality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Experience in digitization of embroideries is a plus.
