Team Overview

You'll be joining the Strategy – Key Accounts (KA) Team at DiDi Food Mexico City (CDMX) — a mission-driven group focused on transforming how we leverage data to drive smart, scalable decisions across core business functions. Our team partners with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Operations, BI, and Tech) to unlock insights that accelerate growth and operational excellence. In this role you will be the primary data engineering contributor, ensuring our systems are reliable, connected, and ready to power strategic and analytical needs. This is a unique opportunity for someone early in their data career to shape key data foundations within a rapidly evolving tech organization.

Role Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, enabling reliable access to structured and unstructured data across internal systems.
  • Write clean, scalable code and advanced SQL queries to support data ingestion, transformation, and reporting.
  • Design and migrate tables, schemas, and datasets to support analytics and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with analysts, product managers, and engineers to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure consistency and accuracy throughout our data ecosystem.
  • Support automation of workflows and integration across internal platforms and services.
  • Document processes and contribute to best practices for data engineering across the team.

Role Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience post-graduation — ideally in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering, or a similar data-centric discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and a solid foundation in data querying, modeling, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience in data management, including working with databases, migrations, ETL/ELT processes, and table design.
  • Comfortable coding in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or similar).
  • A passion for turning data into reliable infrastructure — not just reports — and elevating how teams across the company use data.
  • A growth mindset: you ask questions, experiment, learn quickly, and embrace complexity with a collaborative attitude.
  • Bonus: experience with cloud environments (Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS, GCP) and toolchains for orchestration (Airflow, dbt, etc.).
