Our next Sr HR Operations & Payroll Specialist manages complex HR and payroll processes across Mexico, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with the shared services model. The role defines and maintains HR processes, policies, and COE responsibilities. These responsibilities include benefits, comp, recruitment, EDM, and others. The role partners with HR, Finance, 3rd party vendors, and global teams. This partnership aims to drive standardization and data integrity in Workday and ServiceNow.

About This Role

  • Payroll Administration (Immediate Focus)

  • Collect, verify, and process employee payroll data (e.g., hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions).

  • Ensure accurate calculation of gross/net pay, benefits, severance, and tax withholdings.
  • Partner with Finance and third-party providers to ensure payment execution and statutory compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure payroll data integrity across Workday and vendor systems.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports for company partners and legal compliance requirements.
  • Support employee payroll inquiries and corrections through ServiceNow, ensuring resolution and escalation when needed.
  • Review, validate, and process monthly FONACOT statements for payment.
  • Review, validate, and submit monthly Payroll Tax (ISN) declarations across different states for payment.
  • Review payroll accounting entries for accuracy and provide approval for posting in Finance systems

  • HR Operations and Shared Services

  • Manage daily HR operations transactions such as data changes, requisition management, and employee lifecycle activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance in Workday.

  • Be the first-line support for HR cases on ServiceNow, ensuring consistent, timely, and employee-centered resolutions.
  • Partner with HR, Benefits, and Compensation teams to support regional programs (e.g., compensation cycles, benefits enrollment, audits, and data reviews).
  • Collaborate with local and global HR teams to streamline HR processes across LATAM according to global policies and frameworks.
  • Develop, maintain, and publish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation in ServiceNow. This enhances employee self-service, ensures process consistency, and supports training for HR and shared services teams through knowledge base articles.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation in compliance with company policies, audit standards, and local labor regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze ServiceNow metrics and Workday data to identify recurring issues, efficiency gaps, and opportunities for automation or process improvement.
  • Support system testing, process rollouts, and regional onboarding of new tools or functionalities within the HR Shared Service Center to ensure adoption, accuracy, and agreement on global standards.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3 or more years of experience in HR Operations and Payroll across Mexico and/or LATAM.
  • Deep understanding of HR operations, payroll processes, and employee lifecycle transactions across multiple LATAM countries. Ability to apply local labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g., IMSS, INFONAVIT, PTU, Aguinaldo) to daily HR and payroll activities.
  • Advanced user of Workday HCM (Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, Reporting) and ServiceNow HRSD (case management, knowledge management, workflows). Able to identify and report system defects, support testing of new functionalities, and drive adoption of global HR tools.
  • Ability to interpret data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Use of metrics from Workday and ServiceNow to monitor accuracy, resolve recurring issues, and recommend process improvements.
  • Applie detailed knowledge of local employment law, payroll legislation, and data privacy standards to ensure compliant HR operations. Recognize risk scenarios and escalate appropriately to HR, Legal, or Finance.
  • Experienced in managing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), job aids, and knowledge base articles to support HR shared service delivery. Contribute to process documentation, continuous improvement, and operational standardization across LATAM.
  • Able to communicate in English and Spanish. Partner across HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors to resolve complex cases and improve employee experience.

This is a hybrid work schedule based in our Polanco Office in Mexico City. We expect you in office 3 days per week, typically Monday-Thursday. Note, time in office can vary depending on needs.
