Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced, compassionate, and organized House Manager / Senior Care Manager to oversee the daily life and care of a 70-year-old American gentleman living with Parkinson's disease. This is a full-time leadership role for someone who has extensive experience working with high-trust families and managing complex care environments.

The ideal candidate is not only skilled in elder care, but also excels at coordinating teams, managing schedules, and ensuring quality of life, dignity, and emotional wellbeing. This role requires someone who is calm, proactive, deeply compassionate, and comfortable acting as the central point of coordination between caregivers, medical professionals, and family members.

Key Responsibilities

Care & Daily Support

  • Provide attentive, respectful companionship and ensure all daily needs are met
  • Support cognitive engagement and mental stimulation (conversation, brain exercises, routines)
  • Accompany to medical appointments, therapies, and outings
  • Ensure comfort, safety, dignity, and emotional wellbeing at all times

Care Team & Household Management

  • Manage and coordinate a team of nurses, caregivers, chefs, drivers, and medical providers
  • Oversee schedules, shift coverage, and care continuity
  • Serve as the primary liaison between doctors, therapists, and family
  • Maintain clear documentation and communication regarding care plans and changes

Family & Lifestyle Coordination

  • Coordinate and support quality time with children and grandchildren who live locally
  • Facilitate social interaction, family visits, and meaningful engagement
  • Anticipate needs and proactively address issues before they arise

Administrative & Organizational Duties

  • Maintain medical calendars, appointments, and follow-ups
  • Ensure medications, therapies, and treatments are properly coordinated
  • Oversee household logistics related to care and wellbeing
  • Maintain discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times

Required Qualifications

  • Significant prior experience working with elderly individuals, specifically with neurodegenerative conditions (Parkinson's strongly preferred)
  • Multiple years of experience managing households or serving as a senior care/house manager for private families
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams (nurses, caregivers, chefs, physicians)
  • Fluent English required (family is American and does not speak Spanish)
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Compassionate, patient, emotionally intelligent, and trustworthy
  • Comfortable working in a high-responsibility, long-term role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in nursing, geriatric care, or healthcare management
  • Experience working with international or expatriate families
  • Familiarity with cognitive training, neuro-supportive routines, or rehabilitation programs
