Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accounting Senior Analyst within our Global Business Services (GBS). This role will be responsible for overseeing operations of a small team within the Cost Accounting department, which encompasses inventory accounting, cost analysis, and measuring cost drivers. It involves supervising cost accounting team members, ensuring adherence to designed processes and controls.

Accountabilities
  • Oversee the daily functions of a team of 2 – 7 within the Cost Accounting department
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of a stringent control environment that aligns with the company's internal control framework and global policy
  • Manage conducting comprehensive accounting for assets, meticulously identifying and analyzing reasons for changes in value
  • Supervise the evaluation of expenses that are directly associated with products, leading in-depth analyses of the cost of sales related to manufacturing processes
  • Determine the key differences between forecasted and actual costing by thoroughly reviewing variance trends, focusing proactive measures to optimize business operations and financial performance
  • Synthesize cost drivers reports to enhance understanding of financial performance, delivering insights that support strategic planning and resource allocation
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on inventory accounting, investigating and explaining various factors that influence value changes
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring accurate cost allocation and reporting across departments
  • Train, mentor, and assess the performance of Cost Accounting staff
  • Assist with financial audits related to cost accounting
  • Support the enforcement of compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with team members and other internal stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 4 – 7 years of relevant experience in Cost Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant designation
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced team environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Fast learner of technology and coachable

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
Technical Skills and Knowledge

Essential:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with financial software and Oracle
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting processes and best practices
Languages
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish, both spoken and written, is required.

    Portuguese is a plus.

This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week.
