GENERAL SUMMARY (Describe the overall duties and responsibilities of the job)

The Plant Process engineer - Lead is the manufacturing engineering representative for all plant equipment and process tasks for Program Teams (PT). The Plant Process engineer - Lead defines and executes manufacturing processes for new products and customer programs, analyzes work force utilization, space requirements, process flow, and designs, buys and installs equipment for maximum efficiency. This person also manages all process tasks and optimization. Works cross functionally with engineering, program management and the Program Team to meet all targets for manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, scrap, containment, and efficiency optimization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES (Duties required for successful job performance)

  • Coordinate activities of Process Engineering Department.
  • Monitor and ensure the execution of department activities.
  • Analysis, development, and evaluation for decision making.
  • Preparation of managerial and corporate presentations.
  • Support in High-risk areas or processes.
  • Ensure the participation of the engineers under their supervision in Fast Response, as well as the timely completion of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Responsible for the development and monitoring of Heatmap.
  • Effective monitor the scrap / OEE of their process, as well as the implementation of the actions to reduce it.
  • Development of new Process Engineers.
  • Develop and implement performance improvement strategies and plans to promote continuous improvement.
  • Effective decision-making to solve problems related to Quality, Production, and Engineering.
  • Active participation in new product quotes.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and control the development of SOW / SOR for new equipment as well as ensure their release.
  • Ensuring accurate capacity studies and accurate information presented to the customer.
  • Establish processes for new product lines; document product development and changes; evaluate new product performance; and monitor new tool design.
  • Continuity of engineering actions and activities through weekly meetings.
  • Implementation and follow-up with your team on actions that positively impact the efficiency metric.
  • Effective escalation and problem resolution in conjunction with superintendents from other departments.
  • Ensure that the BOM and router information for new and current models is accurate and that efficiency is within target.
  • Ensure the team's effective participation in WOR, BTS, Scrap, 8Ds, Tier 2, launch, and semaphore meetings.
  • Ensure participation and metrics within the target in WAT, CS Factory.
  • Applies statistical methods to solve problems and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Complies and shares best practice and lessons learned initiatives.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.

  • All the responsibilities and follow the authority assigned according to the FTM-EHS-12 Roles, Responsibility and Authority Matrix from ISO 14001 /45001
  • Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as IATF 16949.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE (Required occupational qualifications and other requirements)

  • EDUCATION
    • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineer.
  • EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum five years' experience in manufacturing or process engineering in the production environment.
    • Automotive experience.
    • Manufacturing experience.
  • KNOWLEDGE
    • Troubleshooting Tools
    • Core Tools Knowledge
    • PFMEA and Reverse PFMEA Knowledge
    • Lean Manufacturing Systems Knowledge
    • Knowledge in GD&T (Drawing Interpretation)
    • AUTOCAD Knowledge.
    • OMNEX program management.
    • Advanced English.
    • SAP Basic.

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES (Those needed to perform the essential functions of the job)

  • Ability to perform time and motion studies.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques (Kanban, Kaizen, Six sigma, Project manager).
  • Ability to develop and implement manufacturing layout, processes, and changes, equipment.
  • Specifications and ergonomic evaluations.
  • Excellent knowledge and execution of problem solving.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Staff management.
  • Knowledge on Industry 4.0 / CS Factory
  • Knowledge on Visual Factory.
  • Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge on Quality assurance (CPK, PFMEA, SPC)
