About the Role:

At Motivus, the Senior Scrum Master II / Agile Coach I plays a critical role in enabling high-performing teams and scalable delivery across complex programs. This role operates beyond team facilitation, acting as a coach, mentor, and change agent who partners with Product, Engineering, and Leadership to embed agile thinking, improve flow, and maximize value delivery.

The role balances hands-on team coaching with program-level alignment and leadership enablement, ensuring agility translates into measurable business outcomes.

Core Strengths & Skills

Team & Scrum Master Enablement

· Mentor Scrum Masters and delivery teams toward self-management and self-organization.

· Use metrics and empirical evidence to guide teams in delivering incremental, customer-centric value.

· Coach teams on ownership, accountability, flow, and continuous improvement.

Program & Cross-Team Alignment

· Lead Scrum of Scrums and program-level Agile events to ensure alignment across teams.

· Facilitate collaboration across dependencies, risks, and shared objectives.

· Drive relentless improvement with both delivery teams and leadership partners.

Servant Leadership & Product Partnership

· Coach Product Owners to:

o Clearly communicate product vision and context.

o Maintain a transparent, ordered, and dynamic Product Backlog.

· Strengthen collaboration between Product, Technology, and Stakeholders to support outcome-driven delivery.

Agile Evangelism & Practice Adoption

· Evangelize Agile values and principles across teams and programs.

· Guide teams in structuring and positioning self-organized activities that improve:

o Process effectiveness

o Product delivery

o People development

· Adapt frameworks pragmatically to fit the client and organizational context.

Coaching, Collaboration & Community

· Continuously develop leadership, mentoring, and coaching capabilities.

· Actively participate in Motivus communities of practice, sharing learnings and patterns.

· Engage with external Agile communities to bring fresh perspectives into Motivus engagements.

Value Delivery & Transparency

· Expertly leverage metrics to:

o Improve transparency

o Support value-based decision making

o Enable constructive, data-informed conversations with stakeholders

Experience

· Total Industry Experience: 8–12 years

· Agile Experience: 12+ years in Agile roles

· Scrum Master Experience: 8+ years

Education & Certifications

Education

· Bachelor's degree (preferred)

· Master's degree (nice to have)

Certifications (Preferred)

· PSM II / PSM III, CSM / A-CSM / CSP-SM

· SAFe, Kanban, or Agile Coaching certification
