Position Overview

Responsible for the administration, optimization, and compliance of databases that support import and export operations. This role ensures that all trade-related information—such as shipments, tariffs, and inventory control—is accurately modeled, securely maintained, and aligned with Mexican Customs Law. You will manage SQL-based systems, implement performance tuning, and leverage cloud platforms to streamline data processes that drive timely and compliant international logistics..  

What you'll do

  • Administer and maintain databases that store import/export information, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with MX Customs Law.
  • Design and optimize queries (SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL) to support reporting, tariff calculations, and inventory control.
  • Monitor system performance and diagnose bottlenecks in data processing related to customs clearance and shipment tracking.
  • Implement backups and recovery procedures for SQL Server databases to safeguard critical trade and logistics data.
  • Make and maintain files with the information declared in the daily operation.   

Who you are

  • Technically proficient: You have strong expertise in SQL (essential), with hands-on experience in PL/SQL and T-SQL for SQL Server.

  • Database-focused problem solver: You understand business needs and can model data appropriately, diagnose bottlenecks, and apply tuning techniques such as indexing and query optimization.

  • Cloud-ready professional: You bring experience with AWS (RDS, Aurora), Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL, and are comfortable managing backups and maintenance in SQL Server environments.

  • Programming-savvy: You can work with C# and ASP.NET to support system integrations and automation.

  • Certified learner: You hold or are working toward certifications such as AWS Certified Database or SQL Certificate.

  • Educational foundation: You have a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Soft skills that matter: You demonstrate attention to detail, clear communication, strong time management, and thorough documentation practices.
