Accounting Manager

Full-Time

Apodaca, NL, Mexico

The position is responsible to maintain financial accuracy for all plant processes and analyze all business trends and provide required explanations. The Accounting Manager is in charge of the financial systems for all entities consolidated into the group and for preparation of accurate, timely and complete financial statements based on company cut-offs and Corporate Accounting Guidelines. This positions closely supports the company leadership team and president to achieve their goals and control cost and risk exposure.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure integrity of systems feeding the financial systems of the company
  • Takes measures and implements controls for proper cut-off on Financial periods
  • Maintains a running list of system issues and ensures they get addressed in a timely and lasting manner
  • Organizes system training as needed and appropriate
  • Lead contact for external auditors
  • Provides leadership for month end close and ensures financial deadlines are met at all times
  • Establishes guidelines (Financial and accounting guidelines) to provide guidance on accounting practices and to safeguard company assets, ensures those guidelines are followed
  • Implements controls to avoid violations with corporate guidelines and US GAAP
  • Ensures relevant reserves and accruals are made in a necessary and consistent manner
  • Determines and implements controls for who has access to financial systems
  • Prepares for and provides accurate, timely and complete financial statements for ME and YE close.
  • Develops and documents processes and procedures to ensure inventory is evaluated according to company guidelines and US GAAP
  • Works with material management to establish proper accounting and inventory control for subcontractor and ex-facility inventory
  • Oversees all financial impacts of physical inventory conduct
  • Establishes and maintains excess and obsolete inventory reserve file
  • Establishes and documents policies and procedures to accurately account for fixed assets and related depreciation
  • Ensures fixed asset dispositions are properly recorded
  • Develops and ensures FA projects follow capital approval and acquisition guidelines
  • Manages annual fixed asset inventory process
  • Develops annual CAPEX budget
  • Owns and supports the purchasing effects report from a financial side
  • Performs monthly variance and in-efficiency analysis
  • Sales, contribution and gross margin analysis on project level
  • Prepares Transfer price analysis
  • Takes responsibility for company costing (standard cost following the German Herstellkostenverfahren) and ensures frequent cost audits and annual adjustments, documents company costing methodology in a policy.
  • Performs inventory and cost variance analysis to provide in-efficiency and non-conformance cost information to management

Requirements

  • 10 plus years' experience in a controller role of a manufacturing organization.
  • Master's degree in Business and /or accounting
  • Cost accounting experience a plus.
  • Computer literate – strong EXCEL skills and the ability to effectively use Outlook, WORD and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP a plus
  • Experience providing guidance to finance and non-finance individuals
  • Strong sense of establishing companywide processes and internal controls
