Reports to: Stella Choi (Chief AI Officer)

We're revolutionizing insurance through AI. We automate underwriting and management processes for insurers and brokers. We're GenAI-native, fast-executing, and blend deep insurance expertise with cutting-edge AI.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a seasoned engineer to lead our technical execution and scale our AI agent platform. You'll architect production-ready AI systems, build robust infrastructure, and grow a high-performing engineering team as we expand across insurance markets in Europe and Latin America.

We work with major insurance groups who demand the highest standards of quality, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Engineering (40%)

  • Design and implement technical architecture for AI agents (underwriting, claims, product recommendation)
  • Establish development best practices (code review, testing, documentation)
  • Make strategic technology choices and ensure code quality at scale

DevOps & Infrastructure (30%)

  • Build and maintain cloud infrastructure for AI agent deployment
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Manage security, performance, and cost optimization (especially LLM API costs)

Management & Delivery (25%)

  • Lead and grow the engineering team (currently: AI Engineer, Fullstack freelance + future hires)
  • Ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of client projects
  • Partner with Chief AI Officer on technical strategy and product roadmap
  • Serve as technical point of contact for enterprise clients

Growth (5%)

  • Contribute to product strategy and technical vision
  • Recruit and develop world-class engineering talent

What We're Looking For Must-Have

  • 7+ years in software engineering, including 3+ in lead/senior roles
  • Production experience deploying and scaling AI/ML applications
  • Experience working with enterprise clients or large organizations with high quality and security standards
  • Strong DevOps/MLOps expertise: CI/CD, containerization, cloud, monitoring
  • Software architecture skills: microservices, APIs, distributed systems
  • Experience managing or mentoring developers
  • Autonomous decision-maker with strong ownership mindset
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence in delivery
  • Fluent English required

Nice-to-Have

  • Spanish and/or French (big plus for LATAM and French market, even if daily work is in english)
  • Early-stage startup experience
  • Insurance industry knowledge
  • Production experience with LLMs (GPT, Claude, etc.)
  • Open-source contributions or visible side projects

AI/ML: LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude API, RAG architectures, prompt engineering

Backend: FastAPI, , RESTful APIs

Data: PostgreSQL, Pinecone/Weaviate (vector DBs), data pipelines

Cloud & Infra: AWS (Lambda, S3, ECS), Docker, container orchestration

DevOps: CI/CD (GitHub Actions), monitoring & logging, infrastructure as code

Tools: Git, Notion, Slack, Linear
