Reporting to the General Manager, the Director, Material's role involves:
What a typical day looks like:
- Expertise in developing and executing global sourcing strategies aligned with GSS objectives, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-regional supply chains, ensuring material availability, minimizing risk, and optimizing logistics.
- Skills in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with global suppliers to drive performance, innovation, and resilience.
- Advanced knowledge in demand forecasting, inventory control, and capacity planning to support dynamic production environments.
- Strong ability to work across departments (Finance, Operations, Engineering, Quality) to align materials strategy with business goals.
- Demonstrated success in building high-performing teams, mentoring leaders, and driving engagement in multicultural environments.
- Ability to identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold global standards and policies.
- Experience in industry Global Services & Solutions (GSS), desirable.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in materials management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Experience working with GSS or global commodity management teams.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a global, fast-paced environment.
- APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
