Job Description Work Appropriately  Hybrid: This position requires to work 3 days on site 2 days at home remote on a full-time basis Purpose/Overview of RoleThe Payroll Manager is responsible for the execution of payroll and timekeeping operation for Mexico. The role includes leading various work streams such as Hourly Payroll, Salary Payroll, Confidential Payroll, Tax Compliance, Social Security and Timekeeping.  Given the number of inputs coming into payroll, this role includes daily interaction with HR, Labor, Manufacturing, IT, Finance, GBS, as well as the different vendors supporting the payroll operation such as ADP, E&Y, and KPMG.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end payroll processing for unionized and non-unionized employees in Mexico, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Partner with HR, Labor Relations, Finance, and other key stakeholders to support business decisions and provide payroll expertise.Ensure full compliance with Mexican labor laws (LFT), social security regulations (IMSS), and tax requirements.Respond to inquiries and requirements from government authorities and other institutions.Provide support and timely responses to internal and external auditors, including documentation, reconciliations, and process explanations.Ensure strong internal controls within the payroll function, including proper segregation of duties, documentation, and reviews.Oversee and validate payroll accounting entries, ensuring correct posting to the general ledger and alignment with Finance and Controllership.Manage and resolve complex payroll issues, discrepancies, and escalations, ensuring root cause analysis and sustainable solutions.Drive process standardization and optimization, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.Seek to continuously improve and update payroll procedures, process documentation, and internal policies focused on cost, quality and timelinessEnsure correct configuration and operation of payroll and timekeeping systems (SAP, UKG).Manage sensitive data with a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.Communicate clearly and effectively with different levels of the organization, including leadership and external partners.Prepare budget and monitor the expenses on ongoing basisCollaborate with the vendor to find proactive solutions /enhancements to payroll. -Required experience in similar position: from 5 years.  -English Level: Advanced.  - Key Skills: Knowledge/Skills/AttributesStrong analytical skills and attention to detail for reviewing reports, reconciliations, and large data setsAdvanced English skills.Global experience / perspective preferred.Finance, HR, IT, Manufacturing and/or Labor Relations background preferred.Experience in leading and managing internal and external teams.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Great ability to Implement the projects and solve the problems.Ability to manage change by simplifying the complex and able to influence others.Leadership Expert (inspiring and motivating, getting work done through others, often across silos)Functional Expert (e.g., learning, payroll, timekeeping, etc.)Negotiating/Conflict ManagementDemonstrated experience in project managementEducation CredentialsBA/BS in Finance, Operations Management, Business Administration Information Systems, or related field.Key GM Competencies:Customer FocusTimely Problem SolvingProcess ImprovementPriority SettingInformative CommunicationResults-FocusedCoaching on the JobEnd-to End Process ManagementCollaboration and InfluencingSecurity VigilanceSituational JudgementDeveloping OthersLearning Agility "GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role, do not apply for this role if you will need GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future"  "This Job Requisition us not eligible for relocation benefits.
