Sr. Automation Engineer - Android

Experience: 7+ Years

Tech Stack: Espresso, Kotlin, UI Automator, MockK

You will build a hermetic testing environment using Espresso and UI Automator that validates complex user flows across a fragmented device landscape.

What You'll Do

  • Test Architecture: Design a layered automation strategy (Unit vs. Integration vs. E2E) to maximize coverage while minimizing execution time.
  • Scripting: Write robust UI tests using Espresso and UI Automator (for cross-app interactions like Login/Payments).
  • Mocking: Implement MockWebServer or similar tools to create hermetic test environments, decoupling tests from backend instability.
  • Device Farm Mgmt: Manage test execution across device farms (Firebase Test Lab, SauceLabs) to ensure compatibility across varied screen sizes and OS versions.
  • CI Integration: Integrate reporting tools (Allure/ReportPortal) into CI to provide clear, actionable insights on test failures.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience: 7+ years in Test Automation with a focus on Android.
  • Coding: Strong Kotlin development skills.
  • Frameworks: Mastery of Espresso, UI Automator, and JUnit.
  • Pattern Knowledge: Understanding of the Robot Pattern or Page Object Model to write maintainable test code.
  • Infrastructure: Experience with Docker or CI environments to run headless emulators.
