KICKSTER is a boutique consultancy company specialised in Climate Change Policies and related topics, including risk assessment, sustainable finance, ESG and carbon mechanism; with 2 business units, one dedicated to private clients and one dedicated to international financial institutions, we have developed a strong and unique knowledge, enhanced by proprietary methodologies (licensed also to other consultants) as:

  • Carbon lock-in risk assessment,
  • Internal Carbon price definition,
  • ESG risk assessment,
  • ESG supply-chain risk assessment,
  • Green washing risk assessment,
  • Paris Agreement alignment assessment.

Role Description

This is a contract-based hybrid role for a Carbon Market Expert based in Mexico City, with the flexibility to work from home. The Carbon Market Expert will be responsible for analyzing carbon market trends and policies, advising clients on carbon credit trading, developing strategies to maximize sustainable opportunities, and preparing reports and presentations. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to identify impacts, risks and opportunities in the national carbon markets framework and staying updated on compliance and voluntary market regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in carbon market analysis, carbon credit management, and emissions trading systems
  • Strong research and analytical skills related to sustainability practices and environmental policies
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation development skills
  • Proven project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Knowledge of international carbon frameworks and voluntary offset standards
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team setting and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Economics, Sustainability, or a related field
  • Familiarity with relevant certifications and tools in the carbon market (e.g., ISO standards, CDP, or GHG Protocol)
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable
