Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinates workload management for the team, understands technical challenges, and anticipates risks to maintain smooth operational flow. Ensures SQDC adherence in task execution and promotes continuous improvement based on KPI performance.
Maintains close communication with internal customers to ensure expectations are met while balancing team capacity.
Demonstrate and further develop leadership and coaching skills / characteristics involving team building, interpersonal skills, and effective communication in fulfilling business level deliverables, weighing priorities, setting direction / tasks for the team.
Coordinate efforts with Managers and the current Technical Leader(s), LIO's, and the overall (domestic and global) PDE/DE Gas Turbine team.
Comprehend and proactively influence new processes & business initiatives.
Understands program budgets, actively tracks them, and proactively raises actions to maintain a balanced demand versus capacity.
Facilitate team communication to leadership on program / initiative milestones.
Routinely provide insights to team members via workday and day to day direction.
Connect regularly with other product definition teams (Steam/Gen, Accessories, Other businesses with the PDE function), to benchmark practices and leverage / standardize into the compressor rotating and interfacing systems as appropriate.
Work closely with internal GT PDE teams, manufacturing, engineering, with potential for traveling to global sites to gain hands on experience and bring back first-hand awareness to the team.
Represent Aero FtF PDE team with Design Engineering, Program, Systems, Sourcing, Manufacturing teams and with other CM / PDE teams as required.
Enable digital transformation of supply chain with focus on design engineering and manufacturing processes and capabilities.
Partner with the Advanced Design Tools team to support the development of the common model capability.
Partner with the team and manager in establishing a systematic based execution model for Compressor rotating and interfacing system components (involving standard modeling, PMI, UDF, part family practices, automation.
Become involved in various NPI / NTI program deliverables, and work toward identifying future e needs for technical growth of PDE resources / tools required to support.
Drive strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency within the team in meeting critical business metrics.
Drive proper application of GD&T, quality standards, model reviews, peer checking, to compressor rotating and interfacing system components.
Coordinate / support testing and integration of new digital tools and processes.
Independently drive complex projects to completion.
Juggle a variety of assignments to develop your own career path and professional growth.
Continue to master technical depth in various areas of expertise.
Embrace LEAN by adopting LEAN tools and principles for day-to-day operation & problem solving such as: Monday Morning Planning (Daily Management), PSR, Standard Work, Kaizen among others.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree or Technology Degree in Engineering Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Computer Graphics Technology, or other STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Minimum 5 years of related experience: engineering design, product definition, manufacturing, gas turbine products, business, and strategy.
High level of Proficiency with NX (UG) with application of PMI to 3D model features and product Lifecycle Management Process and tool experience.
Demonstrated experience leading global initiatives across the CMPD global team or GPE.
Demonstrated experience driving Quality Framework implementation across PDE teams.
Desired Characteristics
Gas Turbine module product design / definition experience: Gas Turbine – Turbine, Combustion, Compressor module component design and release process or similar.
Demonstrated Horizontal partnering relationship building skills across the team and with design engineering and manufacturing.
Ability to formulate business strategies…awareness, connectivity and influencing skills to allow implementation of these.
Demonstrated record of accomplishment in delivering results and leading others in a dynamic business environment.
Experience with Dassault ENOVIA or other PLM system.
Familiarity with gas turbine mfg./supply chain planning
Project/Program Management Experience
Change Management process knowledge/advocate.
