The main objective of the Government Affairs Specialist position is to support the Ford of Mexico´s Government Affairs Direction in all internal and external government relations, lobbying and processes.

The Government Affairs office provides high quality services to the entire Ford Motor Company organization in topics related to all government levels.

It is the office in charge of coordinating negotiating incentives for new investment projects, international trade agreements, local infrastructure and logistics needs, domestic market regulations, etc.

The Government Affairs Specialist will have the responsibility to coordinate all these activities and report to the GA Director.

The position is supported by a GSR head who is already part of the organization.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree (MA desirable) in Business, Economics, International Relations, Political Science or related subjects.
  • Minimum 10+ years of work experience in automotive industry, government affairs or international organizations.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiations skills.
  • Quantitative skills to manage and interpret economic and industry data.
  • Knowledge of trade agreements and capacity to evaluate geopolitical scenarios
  • Critical and strategic thinking
  • Resilience and affective management of stressful, volatile and uncertain scenarios
  • Good teamwork behaviors and project management
  • Suitable personal image to keep high level relationships with government officials
  • 100% fluent in English both spoken and written
  • Proficient in Power Point, Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of the new IA tools
  • Availability to work in a hybrid scheme
