 Sr Java SDET - Test Automation Framework Expert (Core Java)

Position Summary

The Senior Java SDET will be responsible for defining the architecture and building robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks using Core Java. This individual will serve as the technical lead for automation efforts, coaching junior engineers, and setting best practices for software quality and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD). A deep understanding of software design principles and a strong background in object-oriented programming (OOP) are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Framework Architecture & Development:
    • Design, develop, and implement highly scalable, reliable, and reusable test automation frameworks from scratch using Core Java (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, Maven/Gradle).
    • Establish technical standards and architecture for all testing activities (unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, security).
    • Integrate test automation into the CI/CD pipeline (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Coding & Test Execution:
    • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Core Java code for framework components, tools, and automated tests.
    • Develop and maintain automation tests for APIs (REST/SOAP) and UIs (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Playwright).
    • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure testability and quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Software Development or as a Senior SDET/Automation Engineer.
  • Core Java Expertise (Non-Negotiable):
    • Expert-level proficiency in Core Java (Java 8/11/17+) is mandatory, including strong knowledge of OOP, data structures, multithreading, and design patterns.
    • Proven experience building test automation frameworks from the ground up using Core Java and related libraries (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, Mockito).
  • Automation Tools: Extensive experience with API automation (e.g., RestAssured) and UI automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright).
  • SDLC & CI/CD: Strong knowledge of the full SDLC, agile methodologies, and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Other Skills:
    • Experience with version control systems (Git).
    • Solid understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data validation techniques.
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Excellent communication and leadership type personality is critical.
