Purpose

The Manager, Portfolio Optimization supports the Senior Manager, Portfolio Optimization to increase the performance and profitability of the issuing portfolio (credit & debit) and the overall success of the Issuing & Payment Networks Area within Retail Payments Department in International Banking ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities:

  • Develops and maintains payments related dashboards and reports from networks & IB data, consolidating extraction of data from multiple sources.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis for the credit card portfolio to identify opportunities for portfolio optimization including product mix adjustment, MCC penetration, fee structures, low authorization, etc..
  • Monitor the impact of optimization initiatives on portfolio performance and adjusting as needed to achieve desired outcome – increase portfolio profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (tech, ops, finance, risk) to ensure seamless implementation of optimization strategies across portfolios.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of the portfolio strategies and provide insight to senior management on areas for improvement.
  • Build and maintain robust financial models to forecast portfolio performance and assess the impact of different strategies.
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • At least 3 years of working experience in payments (credit and debit cards) with strong understanding of products, benefits, pricing, P/L drivers and the payments ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data analysis, financial modeling, and scenario analysis.
  • Demonstrated multitasking abilities in a team-based environment.
  • Excellent presentation, writing and negotiation skills.
  • Business Intelligence experience with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint),
  • Knowledge of Power BI and capacity to manage simple databases in SQL
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) as an essential requirement
