Position Purpose:
To ensure the coordination, supervision, and successful execution of all foreign trade operations (imports from Spain to Mexico and from direct factories to Mexico), guaranteeing the timely and proper delivery of the goods, strictly complying with Mexican customs regulations (including the new 2026 regulations), and optimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the Barcelona team to ensure the import process to Mexico is executed in a timely and proper manner.
- Guarantee an agile and seamless customs clearance process.
- Ensure the customs value is aligned with current Mexican tax regulations.
- Ensure strict compliance with the new 2026 Mexican customs regulations.
- Coordinate logistics operations with customs brokers and the destination warehouse.
- Ensure the availability of goods in the destination warehouse.
- Ensure cost compliance and adherence to the budget agreed upon with corporate services.
Main Tasks:
1. Planning and Customs Documentation
- Prepare the import costs of the merchandise for subsequent upload into the SAP system.
- Coordinate the traffic of goods with the export team in Barcelona, for both air and sea shipments.
- Compile and send the required documentation to the customs broker for release (invoices, packing list, air waybill/BL, and invoice for dutiable increases).
- Review documentation together with the customs broker to validate the correct product classification (type, composition, labeling, etc.).
- Review the draft customs declarations (proforma invoice), prepare instruction letters, and request the payment of duties/taxes from the Finance department.
2. Logistics, Verification, and Compliance
- Continuously monitor the goods release process from customs until reception at the operator, and ensure the SLA agreed upon with the customs broker.
- Follow up on supplier labeling and minimize UVA (Customs Verification Unit) labeling, ensuring compliance with Mexican Official Standards (NOM 004 and/or NOM 020).
- Broad and up-to-date knowledge of Mexican import regulations and processes (Customs Law, RRNA, NOMs and MVE).
- Knowledge of the upcoming 2026 regulations
- Ensure the timely obtaining of the NOM compliance opinion/certificate.
- Review non-tariff regulations and restrictions (minimum prices, anti-dumping duties, RRNA, etc) applicable to potential new imports with the customs broker.
3. Budgetary Control and Reporting
- Follow up on the expense accounts for each foreign trade operation.
- Review actual costs in relation to the budget assigned by the corporate office.
- Prepare a detailed monthly foreign trade report by brand.
Requirements:

Experience:
3 years of experience minimum in roles related to Foreign Trade, Customs, or International Logistics (preferably in Spain-Mexico imports). 6-9 years of experience in Retail Fashion Industry with apparel and textile imports.

Excellent organization skills, time management, detail oriented (capable of managing large volumes of data with precision and accuracy). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. Proactive and Self-Motivated: Able to manage multiple tasks effectively with minimal supervision.

Communication Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective coordination with international teams (Spain) and local providers (customs brokers, warehouses). Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills for liaising with global suppliers and internal/external stakeholders.

: Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights.

Ability to collaborate effectively with the Operations and Finance teams.

Software Proficiency:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with SAP systems.

Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal) is essential for international communication.
