Mgr Civil Design

Job Description
We are seeking a Mgr Structural Engineering to drive the implementation and continuous improvement of civil engineering strategies and programs for Brazil or HispAm. Reporting to the Dir Engineering LatAm, this leadership role is responsible for overseeing civil engineering functions including site design and the development of architectural and engineering drawings for zoning and construction on wireless tower sites for new construction and modifications activities.

• Provide leadership and direction to a team responsible for civil design and architectural and engineering deliverables, including drawings for site designs, including layouts, drainage systems, access road designs, basic storm water designs, and local code requirements for zoning.
• Oversee the development and standardization of construction documentation for both repeatable and custom site types, ensuring compliance with global standards, local regulatory codes, and internal quality expectations.
• Ensure that design outputs incorporate all elements necessary to meet health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Manage accountability for the full civil design lifecycle across site types—from design scoping and documentation through construction support and as-built review—ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and schedule adherence.
• Serve as the primary civil engineering representative within the geography, promoting alignment with global engineering strategy and contributing to the continuous evolution of company-wide design practices.
• Guide resource planning, workload management, and performance development across the team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and cross-functional partnership.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of accurate engineering data and documentation within enterprise platforms, ensuring consistency, traceability, and support for future upgrades or reinforcements.
• Act as the escalation point for civil design-related issues, collaborating closely with Development & Construction, Structural Eng., Legal, Leasing and Property teams to drive resolution.
• Support Development & Construction teams in the review and approval of as-builts and site closeout packages.
• Partner with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team to select and oversee civil design vendors, manage contract scope and performance, and drive continuous improvement in quality and cost.
• Represent the company in engagements with regulatory, zoning, or permitting authorities when technical expertise is required.
• Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing, training, and capability development initiatives for internal teams and external vendors.
• Responsible for the recruitment, performance management, and career development of structural team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture or a related discipline required, master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or program oversight capacity.
• Strong working knowledge of architecture and engineering design practices and construction documentation processes across diverse infrastructure types.
• Experience managing third-party vendors, including contract scoping, performance oversight, and quality assurance.
• Knowledge of global and local civil engineering standards and construction codes.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, construction, operations, and supply chain teams.
• Excellent analytical and project management skills; capable of managing multiple initiatives concurrently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software, document control platforms, and data systems.
• Experience with sustainability integration in infrastructure design is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (for HispAm region) and Portuguese (for Brazil market) is required.
• Approximately 5% travel may be required to support the position's responsibilities.
