Sr. Test Engineer

Overview

Coordinates and executes projects for manufacture, upgrade, improve and/or transfer automatic testing equipment of electronic products at final product level and at PWB level. Designs, proposes and/or implements new systems that require knowledge of continuous improvement techniques applied to the testing operation. Assigns tasks and supervises specialized personnel to facilitate continuous workflow as well as successful completion of projects. Recommend appropriate development plans for electronics technicians. Develops, modifies and maintains standard operation procedures and related documents of test engineering. The successful candidate will be qualified and capable of career advancement within Ensambles Hyson.

Responsibilities

• Design, set-up, and validation of test equipment for the production lines to meet schedule and quality requirements.
• Project Driving on MS Project, justification of capital investment and creation of statement of work (SOW).
• Leading a group of 5 Sr. technicians as Test Engineering Supervisor. Scheduling of projects and activities for downtime reduction, false rejects reduction, maintenance and improvement projects. As well as managing all employee related information as payroll, performance appraisals, hiring, training, etc. All equipment related information and work orders for maintenance operations managed via MP2 Enterprise.
• Optimize automated test equipment to meet and exceed quality, cost and efficiency targets. All Final assembly equipment based on NI Labview/NI TestStand and All Test Fixtures at board level based on Agilent i3070.
• Assist in the troubleshooting of down equipment to minimize the production time lost.
• Issue technical reports for new implementations as well as 8D reports and CAR answer and follow-up to provide root cause analysis and countermeasures.
• Participate in New Product Development meetings and manufacturing runs as test engineering window.
• Conduct DOE, PFMEA, SPC, DFT, GR&R, KAIZEN and similar activities to ensure good testability of PCB assemblies and final products.
• Ensure that all safety regulations, including regulatory controls, are carefully followed.
• Work as a key contributor in the execution of the Division's strategic objectives.
• Maintain and continually improving the quality management system in the areas assigned with a "risk management" approach, ensuring compliance to company procedures, policies and most current revision of ISO 9001 standard.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering discipline from an accredited university
• 100% Bilingual Spanish English
• Keen sense of interpersonal communications and the ability to build effective relationships
• Hands-on, high-energy individual with eagerness to learn and excel
• Tolerance for ambiguity and the resilience to handle stressful situations
• Proven experience designing custom test equipment
• At least eight years of testing engineering experience with increasing levels of responsibility
• Must have a thorough understanding of testing electronic assembly and technologies including embedded systems using microcontrollers, communication protocols I2C, RS232 and radio frequency.
• Proven experience using Agilent ICT i3070 and CheckSUM ICT for test development
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate degree in business or technical discipline
• Maintenance Operation Experience of automated equipment
• PMP certified professional
• Experience using National Instruments hardware and software (LabVIEW/TestStand)
• Familiar with AutoCAD, Solid Works or other CAD tools
