We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role Java Developer

Role Purpose:

Loan IQ (supplied by Finastra) is a commercial lending system used by HSBC to satisfy loan servicing for Global Banking (GBM), Commercial Banking (CMB) and Security Services Corporate Trust and Loan Agency businesses. This covers servicing of so-called complex loans for HSBC in the capacity as a lender (HSBC participation and bilateral lending) and as a syndicated facility agent. Complex loans are characterized as high value corporate transactions, with complex terms and conditions, including syndicated loans. 

Main Activities

Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users and various teams, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.

Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.

Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

Should be able to handle individual task with minimum supervision.

Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, utilising their skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between these according to demand.

Liaise with other engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand and drive the product or service's direction.

Establish an automated process to minimize variation and ensure predictable high-quality code and data.

Responsible for automating the continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Keep up-to-date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable.

Participate in L3 Support activities.

3 years of overall IT experience with Java, SpringBoot, Oracle,

Very strong knowledge and hands on experience on Java 8 or above, SpringBoot, JPA, JUnit, REST API, Maven, and SQL.

Extensive experience on APIs and Web/micro-services (REST)

API Contract Design (Swagger)

Ensuring the Technical standard and coding Practices are followed in the deliveries.

Ensure and Embed Agile and DevOps practices within the team.

Good to have Batch, Unix shell scripting.

Ability to respond to questions / points of clarification from application suppliers, test teams and business in respect of the functionality being delivered.

Demonstrable experience in the areas described above in a medium to large software delivery environment.

A proven track record of the successful delivery of large-scale projects in previous domains to tight deadlines

Delivery of releases in an agile delivery environment as well as traditional waterfall delivery
