Engineer – Application & Solutions

Job Summary:

The Engineer – Application & Solutions plays a pivotal role in translating customer needs into deployable robotic solutions. This role combines technical acumen, shopfloor analysis, and customer collaboration to design solutions using Ati's AMRs that deliver measurable improvements in ROI, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Customer Use Case Discovery & Solution Design

  • Analyze customer shopfloors, workflows, and pain points through site assessments, data collection, and process observation.
  • Identify automation opportunities where Ati's AMR solutions can deliver tangible value.
  • Define clear success metrics (ROI, throughput, cycle time reduction, efficiency gains, etc.) for each proposed solution.
  • Design customized AMR-based solutions integrating hardware, software, and process redesign to meet customer objectives.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Product teams to prepare detailed Solution Proposals, Layouts, and Scopes of Work (SoW).

Technical Presales Support.

  • Support the sales team in customer meetings, technical presentations, and demonstrations.
  • Translate customer needs into technical specifications and integration requirements.
  • Develop and present ROI analyses, process flow diagrams, and conceptual layouts.
  • Engage in proof-of-concept trials and simulations to validate solution feasibility.

Deployment & Integration.

  • Lead on-site configuration, testing, and commissioning of AMRs.
  • Identify technical risks in deployment and provide strategies to mitigate them early in the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with the customer's operations, IT, and maintenance teams during deployment.
  • Ensure successful integration of Ati's AMRs with existing workflows and infrastructure (e.g., MES/WMS systems, sensors, conveyors).
  • Conduct diagnostics, firmware updates, and sensor calibrations to maintain performance standards.

Continuous Improvement & Customer Success

  • Track and measure post-deployment performance metrics against agreed objectives.
  • Provide training and ongoing technical support to customer teams.
  • Document lessons learned and feed insights to Product and Engineering teams for solution refinement.

Collaboration & Market Insights

  • Track and measure post-deployment performance metrics against agreed objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to enhance solution effectiveness.
  • Stay current with emerging automation trends, AMR technologies, and competitive solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Robotics or Mechatronics Engineering; Master's degree is preferred.

Experience

  • 3+ years in applications, solutions, or systems engineering for industrial automation or robotics.
  • Experience in analyzing customer operations in manufacturing, logistics, or warehousing environments.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing AMR, AGV, or automation solutions.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for diagnostics, scripting, and testing.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems, SLAM navigation, and fleet management software.
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols, and integration architectures.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and ROI modeling capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel across Mexico and LATAM for customer visits, demos, and deployments.
